Go Glitter, Go! May 10 2013, 0 Comments
I love to create a clutch around a specific dress color, shoe style or jewelry design. Today our request was a clutch to go with a dazzling pair of Kate Spade pumps. Our customer chose our {GLITTER} Clutch design. We then matched up an ivory satin to her shoe color and added glitter chevron to accent the heel. Go Glitter Go!

Mocha & Pacific Blue Clutches May 01 2013, 0 Comments
We often receive requests from brides looking for the perfect accessory for their wedding day. Today we worked with a bride to create a simple clutch to go with her amazing Lea-Ann Belter gown. She chose the {ALEXIS} Clutch design in a silk color to match her bridesmaid's "pacific blue" Amsale dresses. The ribbon in mocha, perfectly ties in her dress color. Keeping with the same idea we also created a collection for her bridesmaids... {Love that blue!}
Bridesmaids Clutches : The Junior Bridesmaid in Navy January 24 2013, 0 Comments
We love getting to create something for the smaller statured wedding participants along with their adult counterparts. This small handbag has been created for the junior bridesmaid, echoing the elements of the bridesmaids collection.
With the use of two different prints as well as including the silver sparkle ribbon, we have made a cohesive piece that can stand alone or with the group.
Implementing this into your collection is a great way to be practical and still tell your little lady that she is just one of the girls!
{I love the rounded corners and the two tone striped handle!}

The matching bridesmaids collection is shown above. A beautiful navy and white modern print collection wrapped up with a lovely silver ribbon.

The Bridesmaid Clutches: Ruched Metal Silk January 16 2013, 0 Comments
Three lovely, metal grey, clutches in the style of our {LANEY} Clutch {as seen here} for three lovely bridesmaids. Each woman received a ruched silk clutch, lined in a soft ballet pink. To individualize the clutches, Angela created different front pieces for each one. Together but separate. A wonderful representation of friendship, indeed.

The inspiration for these clutches came from a previously one-of-a-kind clutch that we had for sale in our Etsy shop. I often referred to "her" as Lady Evelyn. {below}

We proudly and exclusively use hand woven dupioni silk.

Something Old to Something New Clutch January 10 2013, 0 Comments
Today, we share with you, another item from our ever growing "Something Old to Something New Clutch" vault. All of these clutches are custom made to the bride's wishes, which, sometimes, is that we get the freedom to create it wherever inspiration takes us.
In this feature, the clutches you see were created using two different gowns provided by the bride.
THE {COQUETTE}, for the bride, was created using these very elaborate scalloped collar pieces made of satin. To enliven the pieces, Angela cut the ribbon rose swirl design (also seen here) from our fabric and sewed it all over the provided satin. The clutch was then finished with an ivory satin ribbon and bow.

The {BANGLE} Wristlets, for the bridesmaids, was made of off-white fabric from the second dress was pieced and ruched to create lovely texture. Delicate lace adornments from the front of the gown served perfectly as detailing for the centerpiece of each clutch.

Crocodile Case Compilation! January 07 2013, 0 Comments
It's 2013! It's here and we all made it!
We wanted to share with you something that has been around for a couple of months, but being as January typically puts the organization bug in us, that it would be a perfect time to re-share.
Our card case wallets are perfect for keeping things tidy in your purse. They can be clipped to the inside of your bag, with the proper procurements and they can also be put into larger wallets for maximum organization.
They are made with genuine leather that has been embossed to mimic crocodile hide rather than actually being from a crocodile.

{from left to right, top to bottom: antique orange red, deep navy, forest green, cadet blue, vogue purple, deep coral}
These wallets pair perfectly with this charm here...

One-of-a-Kind Winter Challenge Part VIII, our final piece. December 21 2012, 0 Comments
Well, friends, it has been lovely. We have come to the end of our challenge.
This, our eighth and final installment, is full of beauty and light. RIch lambskin in bordeaux and cherry make up the body of this {MAROL} cross-body bag as well as the basis of the flap. Rows of lovely grosgrain ribbon create a timeless stripe pattern atop the flap for a unique, one-of-a-kind pattern.
We bid you adieu and a very happy winter solstice and a merry christmas, happy post-hanukkah, merry kwanzaa and a cheery boxing day.
Enjoy your days and those around you. With love, from {AO3} Designs.

One-of-a-Kind Winter Challenge VII December 21 2012, 0 Comments
We're almost at the end of sharing our winter challenge with you! The seventh installment boasts a wild cat print, leopard to be precise, with a french trim appliquè that creates a lovely breakup of the print. The sides have been "striped" with the same trim and finished with beautiful faceted black gems attached. A lovely leather bow sits in the center at the closure, with a gold accent to pull it all together.

One-of-a-Kind Winter Challenge Part VI December 21 2012, 0 Comments
For the sixth piece of our Winter Challenge, we bring you the {KATHRYN} in Navy Blue Lamba Leather and Navy Blue Croc-Embossed Leather. We only use high quality genuine leather for all of our leather items. This version can be used as a clutch, as shown below.

Or...

...it can be used as a handbag worn either along the shoulder or as a cross-body. The navy leather has been weaved in and out of the nickel chain and a leather piece has been added at the top of the shoulder for added style and comfort.
This leather is so soft, it's not easy to keep your hands off of it!!

A lovely mix of pebbled white leather and rich black suede topped with a luxurious, not-quite-patent genuine black leather flap. What truly sets it apart from all others is its tailored stitch, creating a chevron stripe pattern.

One-of-a-Kind Winter 2012/2013 Part III December 14 2012, 0 Comments
Inspired by the sparkly night snow and the black lines the trees make against it we bring you the third installment to our One-of-a-Kind challenge for winter 2012/2013.

Meet {KATHRYN} One-of-a-Kind Winter 2012/2013 Part II December 10 2012, 0 Comments
We are pleased to announce the arrival of the {KATHRYN} Bag. This is the second piece made exclusively for our One-Of-A-Kind challenge for winter 2012/2013. For the winter collection, I am drawing my inspiration from the magic of the season around me.
In my window sits my muse all dressed up in captivating color, the evergreen tree. This rare color was the inspiration for our {KATHRYN} Handbag... Now I just wish I could infuse the smell of the Evergreen.... but leather isn't so bad, is it:)

Album + Collection for Winter November 30 2012, 0 Comments
While chatting on the phone with my brother Wednesday night, he shared with me that he was working on a collection of albums based on the seasons. He is beginning his collection with his favorite season, Winter. His first song is set to be released on the Winter Solstice of 2012. I loved the idea and quickly joined him in the seasonal challenge... which naturally fits into fashion! My challenge is to create 8 one-of-a-kind bags for Winter by December 21! Each of the one-of-a-kind bags will be available for sale on our website. My first piece is inspired by the things we are drawn to in the winter months, anything warm! Right?! The colors and textures I chose for my first piece felt to me rich and warm; a textile woven with layers of embroidered rich hues framed with a suede and leather braid along side a deep metallic raison lambskin leather. xoxo Angela O.
Custom Clutches: Sarah November 29 2012, 0 Comments
This past summer we made these custom {ALEXIS} clutches for Sarah, the bride. Instead of using them just for her bridesmaids at the wedding, she used them as a gift beforehand.

Tucked inside each clutch, was a note that we had scribed at Sarah's request.

By way of announcing the big news, she asked each friend to be her bridesmaid.

We cut little cards and made handmade envelopes and carefully wrote each note, trying to channel
the excitement into every card.
It was lots of fun for us and we hope for them too!

Custom Clutches: Joy November 15 2012, 0 Comments
We regularly get requests for custom clutches. We love it. Especially when it comes to making something extra special for a bride for her big day!
For this order, we received a request to make a style of clutch that is not part of our usual line. A challenge, how exciting! The experience definitely broadened our talents as there was a bit of a learning curve. In the end, we were thrilled with the result.
To keep with the overall look of the wedding itself, our client sent us some beautiful antique gold metal beads to finish the look of this lovely snow white silk clutch.
Above: Our own photo of the finished clutches for Joy.
Below: Joy was kind enough to send us a photo from the wedding day! Photo by Caitlin Stiefel Photography. (She does beautiful work in NY and seems to capture the human spirit in her photographs.

Our specialty is the Something Old to Something New Clutch, which we will make from your mother's wedding dress, your grandmother's veil or even your father's handkerchief or pocket square. Whatever you'd like, we are here to help make your big day even more personal and special. Please contact us at info@ao3designs.com if you'd like a custom clutch. We'll make them for any occasion! A new collection, another year forward. October 05 2012, 0 Comments
As we take the next few days to celebrate our ninth birthday, we'd like to present this new collection of prints that we are so excited about. Deep charcoal boldly set beside stark white and wrapped with smooth mulberry satin ribbon. Makes me think about mulled wine and little Earl Grey cookies, and reading a great book in a little patch of late afternoon sun as the air outside cools and blows. Of soft cardigans, and warm scarves and leather boots. Of shadows of the leaves on the trees as they make their last movements before they make their final decent to the dry ground. Fall is here, let's live in it.

To the City, To the Seaside April 26 2012, 0 Comments
If we pull inspiration from the materials around us we tend to tell stories with whatever it is we have created. Sometimes we force it into the form we've imagined and sometimes, the best times, we let the inspiration and the materials lead us.
The Seaside Soiree is a very good example of this in our work. Beautiful leathers in colors and finishes that shimmer and shine paired with colorful vintage zippers give this clutch great dimension.
Above and below is our original Seaside {SOIRÈE} Clutch made with a velvety Navy corduroy, crystal silver leather and bright colorful vintage zippers. Our creation of this later inspired one of our customers to request her own custom colors for this clutch. We offer and encourage customizations of our clutches at any time.
Featuring all the hottest colors of this season, yet they all remain timeless. Perhaps colors remembered on a drive to the seaside. Light navy, teal, cream, coral and yellow all curve around on this deep navy background.
This photo shows how we interpreted our client's wishes for her personalized Soirèe clutch. Smooth pewter leather edged with crystal silver leather.
Dancing atop the pewter leather are lovely vintage zippers in butter yellow, royal purple, light lilac gray, and black. A perfect clutch for a night out on the town or certainly to a new destination!

Something Old to Something New, for Two December 01 2011, 0 Comments
We've been away, or so it seems. So many terrific wedding orders all fall have kept us busy and creating and unfortunately neglecting our blog! We figured this would be a fantastic way to come back, with another look at our Something Old to Something New line. This offering is so fun for us because we never know exactly what will become of it. It is problem-solving time, which is a joy because we love puzzles! And it is collaboration time, because we are taking the past, making a present, and giving it to the future.
A mother sent us a large cut of her wedding dress, asking if we could take the fabric and create two custom clutches, each with similar characteristics yet different, just like her daughters, who would be receiving the finished {ALEXIS} Clutches. We found some gorgeous beadwork to adorn these clutches. The old and the new. We hope you love them as much as we do!

Our favorite collections of the season! July 13 2011, 0 Comments
Really, we can't close the book on that statement just yet! There have been so many exciting collections during this years wedding season and we are only half way through! These are our favorites so far......
[caption id="attachment_1402" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="I've got sunshine...."]
[/caption]
Just looking at this puts an enormous smile on my face! And how could it not? The rich gold silk of the forefront bridal {BAGUETTE} reaches out and warms the heart. Hand made rosettes add a deeply personal touch, the leaves slowly and thoughtfully cut out of metallic silver leather to match her shoes. Presented on a canvas of pristine white silk. It takes center stage, as it should, but not before the {ALEXIS} bridesmaids clutches can catch your eye. Bright sunshine golden yellow and stark white chevron stripe *POP*! Wrapped and finished with deep grey ribbon. An unforgettable statement indeed.
[caption id="attachment_1404" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Starlight and flowing tides..."]
[/caption]
As though manipulated out of metal itself, structurally beautiful, the {KNOT} Clutch in silver is classic without being obviously so. It is strong. It is delicate. It flows with expression that comes from deep within, perhaps as old as the stars themselves. Turquoise silk {ALEXIS} clutches do not take second stage, rather they all stand together in a force of beauty. Wrapped in smooth silver satin ribbon, they perfectly complement the twist of silver silk in the {KNOT}.
[caption id="attachment_1403" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="A rose by any other name...."]
[/caption]
A collection plucked straight from the garden! A beautiful vintage style floral {BAGUETTE} clutch finding its center with supple grey leather. Ruched details showcase the colors.....apple, blush, crimson, electric blue, navy, butter yellow. A myriad of hues to satisfy each element of the bride. A mixed bridesmaids collection stands by her side, full of individuality. A chevron stripe print as well as a delicate damask, showcased in different clutches, one each for the bridesmaids. The {BANGLE} echoes the {BAGUETTE} with the center strength of grey leather. The {ALEXIS} ties it together with its simplistic envelope design, adding the ease of a beautiful ribbon and bow closure, in complimentary colors. A grey and white chevron stripe {ALEXIS} Clutch stands up front with the Maid of Honor, an apple green length of ribbon drawing lines from bridesmaids to bride.
All so perfect for this summer wedding season. All making statements with these individual women and those that stand beside them on the biggest day of their lives.

Breathing new life into a previously loved garment is one of the most memorable aspects of our work. Bridging the past and the future brings us a joy like no other. This beautifully unconventional gown was sent to us by a soon to be wed daughter wishing to intertwine her mother's special day with her own upcoming wedding. A lovely sandy taupe that can nod to both lilac and gray, adorned with delicate roses, gathered into pleated ruffles and centered with stark white leather, bringing out the levels of white that create depth in the roses. This {BAGUETTE} Clutch is certainly one of a kind!

Many thanks to the bride for asking us to create a clutch for her very special day!
Put into action! February 22 2011, 0 Comments
It rarely happens that we have other people rummaging around our studio space, but in this case, instead of just a fun mess, it sparked inspiration and then resulted in a very personal, custom bag.
The culprit, was our mother, who is going through a grand and positive change in her life as she and our father enter a new decade of their lives, and all their children grown. In an effort to express her individuality she also wanted to express her idea of femininity. She loves things that sparkle and things that shine, so when she found this great piece of woven fabric with an animal print, let's just say her excitement was very audible!!
[caption id="attachment_1334" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="A shimmering, leather rose surrounded by a sea of print."]
[/caption]
The variances in the animal print are bold and are accented with fine silver threads that sparkle. She asked that a loose rose be created for a corner piece with a luscious chocolate lambskin leather that has a delicate rose pink shimmer to it. We refer to this bag as a "mini transition", as it has a lot of the qualities of our satchel like transition, but is slightly more compact to fit her preferences. The interior is a dark and rich peacock print, selected I believe to give her a little joy each time she opens her bag. A reminder perhaps, of the beauty within. A spacious interior complete with separated pockets, one for her cellphone and one for her glasses, two things she feels she is always digging for. A hand ruched strap designed to be conveniently worn as a crossbody or simply draped down the shoulder.
[caption id="attachment_1365" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Up front and beautiful."]
[/caption]
We are super happy about the outcome, we can only hope that she feels the same and that it is a proper interpretation and a fulfilling expression of her new outlook!

Portfolio gray, all dressed up and everywhere to go.. February 04 2011, 0 Comments
We find ourselves being approached more and more often with custom projects. Each one is unique to the individual who needs it, and every time our stomachs flutter with that blissful excitement of the challenge.
This project we took on was really exciting in that it allowed us to re-think and re-work an object we have made before, though ever changing, the laptop bag. This time we needed to push it further into it's new, custom form, as it was to be a pair of portfolio bags for a traveling photographer, {fantastic!!}. She was constantly on the go and needed something substantial and beautiful to present and to carry her promotional items in.
We tailored previous designs to fit her needs and learned a few things on the way. Proper slip pockets on the inside, each with a specific purpose. One for business cards, one for postcards, and one for larger promo materials, while the inside was still roomy enough for her book of work or her laptop.
[caption id="attachment_1306" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Into the depths of the portfolio!"]
[/caption]
We searched and found soft, buttery, vintage style gray leather to adorn the outside. Not polished, but warm and rustic, showing signs of life. And lined it with smooth, gray velveteen for a lush look and to protect the contents of the interior.
[caption id="attachment_1307" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Closer.."]
[/caption]
There's always that question, "will it be right?", looming in the back of our mind whenever we are creating. Knowing full well that it will turn out, sometimes we feel like we can't grant ourselves that breath of air until the last stitch is placed, the photos are taken, and they are wrapped in soft, white tissue.
Fresh and pressed, they are off, into the world!
Everlasting spring of green. January 26 2011, 0 Comments
It isn't back. It hasn't left, and I don't predict that it will step out of the limelight all too soon. The combination of bright apple green and white playing tag on a fabric playground, swooped and surrounded with rich and regal navy blue ribbon is here to stay.
[caption id="attachment_1269" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Imagination wins!"]
[/caption]
It's classic, it's modern, it can summer, it can winter. This collection is incredibly versatile while still being unique. The excellent mixture of these prints can say so much as they group together and then flitter off to explore on their own adventures.

We recently found ourselves wandering around this vast internet after a tip from a bride that wanted us to re-create a clutch she saw featured on the knot ! How exciting to see what had become of our traveling creation. A beautiful and timeless clutch in navy and white damask wrapped in a marigold ribbon for this fun Kentucky Derby inspired wedding!!
Check us out at a blog called Groom Sold Separately. They featured some of our bridesmaids collections in their "Things We Love" post. They gave us a very enthusiastic spread showing various bridesmaids collections that we have done. This is very exciting for us and we feel well represented with the variety of collections that they featured. Big thanks to the ladies at Groom Sold Separately!!
Then we found a gorgeous layout for a library themed mini-reception!! Which of course made us shriek with glee!! To top it off, they were utilizing one of our {ALEXIS} Clutches with a favorite new print we recently fell in love with. A rust and creme chevron stripe pattern accented with a rich gray ribbon and bow. Unknowingly perfect for this type of photoshoot and very versatile! The women at Gibson Events are amazingly brilliant with the atmosphere they create for photoshoots. We are big fans of them and this photographer! And now we found a new favorite blog to add to the list of must reads!!
Over at Delightfully Random , they showcased a fantastic bridesmaids collection that we were so happy to see again! A wonderful set of {ALEXIS} Clutches in broad, navy and white canopy stripes accented with bold apple green ribbon. Classic and lovely with a fun pop of color!!
It is always so amazing to come across the beautiful work that photographers have to offer a bride and groom. It is so nice to see our clutches photographed in such a different and gorgeous way! This antique gold and ivory collection looks so elegant against the dreamy robin's egg blue of the bridesmaids dresses. {Here's is the blushing bride's clutch!!}
We get so excited to see what new lives our creations take on. While we don't get to travel as much as we'd like to, it is always an honor to send our clutches out into the world never knowing exactly where they are going, but always happy to see they are wonderfully living a full life elsewhere!
Connections. January 05 2011, 0 Comments
Winter is here, it is really here. Upon creation of our annual holiday gifts, we created a sort of "Mommy and me" connection through fashion. We created a leather cuff, we call it The {Soiree} cuff, made of genuine italian chocolate leather, accented with ruffled silver glinted leather for our sister. Her three year old daughter loved it so much that she began to ask "Is it for me?". Thus, the creation of a smaller, matching cuff for her, made of the same materials in the same fashion as her mother's.
[caption id="attachment_1212" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Leather is fun."]
[/caption]
Such a great connection to have, through jewelry or fabrics or however you choose to express yourself, but to have it with those you love. And so fun, to be a child, and be able to have an accessory just like Mom's.......so grown up! It is something that will age beautifully and it is of substance, so it will last a lifetime, along with the memory of receiving it.
[caption id="attachment_1213" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Up close and cute!"]

These cuffs are available anytime of the year! Contact us and we will custom make one for you and your someone special!!
Happy New Year from {AO3} Designs!!
Something bridal, something blue, something beautiful November 24 2010, 0 Comments
A wedding is a wonderful occasion to express yourself by way of traditions. It seems sometimes that the days of old traditions are winding down and we are all trying to create our own new traditions. Though this may be true, wedding traditions have the ability to hold fast.
"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."
[caption id="attachment_1181" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Something blue, something beautiful."]
[/caption]
Our bride chose to answer tradition in elegant style, with our {BAGUETTE} Clutch. Champagne ribbon rose swirl ruched and embellished further with ivory ruffle and then centered with a luminous panel of storm silk. An absolutely gorgeous combination. I feel it speaks to both old and new, classic and modern. The bridesmaids clutches echo the bride's first thoughts, though reversed. Storm silk wraps and lives on the front and sides and then is centered with our champagne ribbon rose swirl. Both takes are dramatic and timeless and tie all the women together as they proceed down the aisle, on that beautiful day.
The thought of snow, the colors of summer November 15 2010, 0 Comments
Winter is upon us all, be it a mild season or a treacherous one, it is almost here. Some of us excite upon the thoughts of glancing towards the window and seeing snowflakes falling, falling, falling. The anticipation of our winter holidays signals time with friends and family and perhaps traditions. But after all that has passed, we are typically left with the cold and snow and memories and the long wait for warmth.
Luckily, for us, brides are known for planning ahead. So, on a cold day, we find ourselves preparing a collection of clutches for a summer wedding. Lengths of brilliant summer colors warm our day and fill our studio with excitement.
[caption id="attachment_1168" align="aligncenter" width="257" caption="Brilliant colors, one for each."]
[/caption]
Our bride chose a warm natural and chocolate print to match her bridesmaids dresses, but wanted a pop of color to distinguish each individual woman in her party. A palette of summer colors at her disposal, she chose the above array, representing a shade from each color of the rainbow. The aqua of a summer lake, the lime of fresh buds, the yellow of the sun, tangerine petals, a shock of pink spray roses, the purple clouds at dusk. Each one reminisces of the brilliance of summer and perhaps echoes the personality of the woman who shall carry it.
[caption id="attachment_1169" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Open up, your color awaits."]
[/caption]
Open up this envelope style {ALEXIS} clutch, and find your bright interior. This burst of color will lift you up, long after the wedding is over.
Bring this clutch back out in the dead of winter, remember that lovely day, soak up the bold color, and let it warm you until spring.

We highly recommend this magazine for brides-to-be, those who feel the big question approaching or anyone that likes to engage with the printed page. A spectacular magazine through and through, we are so thrilled to take part in their third issue.
Below we have included an image of the front cover, the spread we were featured on and also, a close up of that feature. Enjoy! And don't forget to seek this magazine out, they have a true eye for beauty!
Many, many thanks to LC, KW and EA for inviting us into your gorgeous magazine. We are honored to be a part of such an exciting and important publication!
{AO3} Designs reviewed on You Tube! September 17 2010, 0 Comments
A couple of months ago, we were contacted by a woman in Los Angeles, CA named Alela, about featuring us on her You Tube channel. She has a lot of great videos in which she showcases current trends or companies that she has discovered and loves. We sent her five of our favorite pieces for her to review and we couldn't have asked for such fantastic promotion. She was amazingly thorough and enthusiastic about our work and it was really great to watch!
You can watch it HERE.
Many, many thanks to Ms. Alela for her generous work!
A look at some of our custom work. September 08 2010, 0 Comments
Fall seems to be upon us today. Lovely crisp air, a light breeze and sunlight playing on the leaves that will soon change into gorgeous golds, orange, and reds.
Today brings us an opportunity to share with all of you some recent orders that we customized per our clients needs and specifications. These projects are always fun to take on, as we aim to please the vision of the customer while expressing a product that is definitely our own.
Below is the result of the customer's wish to have something practical yet feminine. She wanted to branch out from her usual color schemes and go for these lush pink hues. We added gorgeous, genuine leather that catches the light to show off its metallic red and pink sheen.
[caption id="attachment_1048" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="A custom made cross-body bag that boasts luscious silk and rich genuine leather."]
[/caption]
It wears as a cross-body bag allowing you to go about your day in style and with your hands free. Beautiful silk ruched to create additional texture and rich, warm, metallic leather to add a bit of sparkle.
[caption id="attachment_1049" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Exterior & Back. Slightly crinkled leather gives a gorgeous effect."]
[/caption]
Next, we have The {BAGUETTE} Crossbody. Spotted on our designer, the customer just had to have one. Deep orange hues, grass green, spots of purple, aqua and golds run along this gorgeous ruched vintage silk. Finished with a centered piece of genuine, metallic, chocolate leather. Practical, everyday and absolutely beautiful.
[caption id="attachment_1050" align="aligncenter" width="283" caption="Crossbody Baguette."]
[/caption]
Finally, we present a personalized laptop bag. Combining and alternating three fabrics chosen by our client; a playful red that echoes childhood, a lovely yellow and white foliage design and a print celebrating The Day of the Dead, skeletons performing perhaps their Danse Macabre. Lined with neoprene and finished with a matching, secure zipper and a genuine leather handle. This custom laptop bag is sure to wow those around her. Super cool and one-of-a-kind!

Football and fashion? But, of course.... August 26 2010, 0 Comments
We recently received a request from a woman wanting three custom made clutches. The story that came with her request, was a first for us to hear, but a really great story indeed. It proved another one of those times where we get to add stories and dimension into our energies to create our body of work.
[caption id="attachment_1019" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Houndstooth and "Alabama" Red!"]
[/caption]
These three BEAU Bangle Wristlets, in black and white houndstooth are accented with deep red. Gorgeous together, no doubt about it, but they serve a greater purpose to this story. Our customer ordered a clutch for herself, her sister and her mother to accessorize the upcoming football season! They are avid fans of the University of Alabama's football team. They never miss a game. The school boasts this bold, rich red as a school color. As for the print, well, the coach never misses a game without his black and white houndstooth hat! Their order was based around supporting their favorite team and looking spectacular while doing what they love!! How fun is that!!
Thanks ladies for including us in the fun!
[caption id="attachment_1018" align="aligncenter" width="221" caption="Another way to include your fashion sense into what you love!"]

P.S. : We can customize any clutch for any reason! Send us your ideas and we'll make it come to life for you!!
Thanks for reading! Enjoy the beautiful day!

Oh, Autumn! How you sweep me off of my feet each year!
I've always had a sweet spot for Fall and all that comes with it. I love all the imagery that pops up, all of the colors that step forward, and all of the renewed textures that we introduce into our daily lives.
This fall, at {AO3} Designs, we are diving into color and texture. We are proud to push genuine leathers, luxurious silks, and smooth velvet-feel corduroy to the forefront of our body of work. Rich hues of chocolates, oysters, woodbine, corals and deep reds will step forward and grace each design with their presence. The blue of a lagoon will pop with a halo of golden glow. Endive and rose will walk hand in hand. Bold blocks and thick lines of golds and coppers will accentuate these rich colors.

Let down your veil... August 11 2010, 0 Comments
Another lovely specimen for our Something Old to Something New clutch. Using the design of our {ALEXIS} Clutch, with its practical and timeless envelope style, we created three clutches for our bride and her party.
[caption id="attachment_954" align="aligncenter" width="199" caption="The beginning. Delicate roses of tulle."]
[/caption]
Our bride chose to utilize her mother's veil and incorporate that into her own ceremony. Made of tulle and decorated with cotton daisies and a large silk flower, we began the process of extracting these pieces and creating new arrangements and completely new pieces. The large silk flower was disassembled and recreated into three smaller calla lilies. The daisies were split up and dispersed between the three clutches. The tulle was carefully cut into smaller pieces and meticulously wrapped into darling little roses. All then were arranged onto each {ALEXIS} Clutch. The bride chose our rich ivory silk to display these flowers upon. Lined with delicately weaved ivory and gold silk, the interior boasts an intricate design that evokes visions of glorious cathedral architectural lines or perhaps our imaginings of french royalty dress. Finished with ivory satin ribbon, wrapped around and tied into a pretty bow. Success. The outcome is enthralling, we are always so excited to go through this process over and over. So many different materials to transform, so many ideas to choose from in our creation of Something New.
[caption id="attachment_955" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Rich with gold and ivory lines, the interior has a delicately elegant look."]
[/caption]
Our {ALEXIS} Clutch is perfect for displaying the details. Once a beautiful veil worn atop a young bride's crown, now gorgeous reminders of the past and present love are the focal point of this piece, held in the hand of the next generation.

The Baguette, with love. August 04 2010, 0 Comments
Once again, we've had the honor to design a Something Old, Something New clutch for two beautiful brides. Both ladies requested the {BAGUETTE}, which gave us a wonderful opportunity to look at the possibilities, side by side. The following examples showcase the versatility and grace of the {BAGUETTE} Clutch. Simplistic in its function, yet the purpose of the specific design of this clutch is to put all those lovely details, all the important beauty, directly in the center.
[caption id="attachment_919" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="We begin, with the sleeve..."]
[/caption]
We begin, with the arrival of the first piece. A sleeve from her mother's wedding dress. A timeless tone of deep ivory, much like melted vanilla ice cream. Intricate lace dotted with pearls to enhance the lines and curves of the foliage and flowers.
Hand made folds and pleats surround the perfect piece, unrecognizable from its former life. Paired with luxurious and rich ivory silk, they exist together as though they have always been intertwined.
[caption id="attachment_925" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="The Result."]
[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_926" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="The Result in Detail."]
[/caption]
The second bride, whom also requested the {BAGUETTE}, sent us a piece of her mother's dress, this time a detailed piece from the collar. Inches and inches of delicate and gorgeous beadwork lay out in front of us. Due to its intricate nature, we were in a position to decide how best to use this piece to its fullest. The result was this beautiful flower, catching the light at every slight movement. Surrounded by snow white silk, this piece stands forward, unmissable and certainly unforgettable.

The beauty of peacock. July 08 2010, 0 Comments
A precious piece of woven silk between our fingers often triggers some sort of memory. Perhaps a robe our grandmother wore, or edges of a blanket we used to sleep beneath, or sitting on our father's lap and feeling the smoothness of his tie.
The history of silk dates back long before any of my ancestors even existed. It has transcended time because of its beauty and its worth. Some used to travel months and years to obtain the rarest of fabrics. They would trade all they owned for it. Nowadays it is much easier for us to track down, and the selection is broad. A design for every personality.
The beauty of this particular silk lies within the weave of the blues with the golds, the teals with the silver, to create the peacock feathers. A regal creature in its own right, this quality adds to the preciousness of the silk.
We feature this weave because of its versatility and of the different faces it takes on as it fits into each of our designs. It truly can exist anywhere in our body of work.
[caption id="attachment_787" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="The {ALEXIS} Clutch in peacock feather silk."]
[/caption]
A simplistic looking envelope, this {ALEXIS} Clutch becomes completely glorious dressed in silk.
[caption id="attachment_788" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="The Bangle {BAQUETTE} in peacock feather silk."]
[/caption]
Beautiful folds of peacock silk surround the centerpiece of genuine black leather on this {BAGUETTE} Clutch.
[caption id="attachment_786" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="The {BANGLE} Wristlet in peacock feather silk."]
[/caption]
An easy to wear piece, it slides on your wrist and off you go. Accented with teal satin ribbon and a hand assembled ruffle bow.
[caption id="attachment_785" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Perfect for this bridesmaids collection, the {COQUETTE} Clutch in peacock feather silk."]
[/caption]
The {COQUETTE} Clutch really allows the peacock silk to show off. It relaxes into the shape of the {COQUETTE}, letting us see all of its feathers at once. Lovely silver bangles accented with satin ribbons really brings it all together.
This peacock silk is as original and impressive as the bird!
New! The {ARIEL} Kiss Clasp Clutch July 06 2010, 0 Comments
We are so proud to present to you our newest addition to the {AO3} Designs family!
The {ARIEL} Kiss Clasp Clutch
This new clutch is such a labor of love. Something we can really wrap our fingers around. Carefully folded corners edge the bottom to give the {ARIEL} a flattering shape.
This edition of the {ARIEL} is made of a lovely brocade design with navy, aqua, green, red, gold and fuchsia feathers. Adorned with hand wrapped bows, fans, roses, and more; all pieced together one at a time, thoughtfully by hand and made of luxurious silk. We sought out vintage pieces, such as brooches, to center each group of silk. There are even bits of lovely silver leather adding some sparkle to the piece.
Although this clutch can be made over and over, no two will ever be alike. Such individualized care and style goes into each moment of creation, that it would be impossible to make any of them identical. You can hold it in hand, or use detachable chain to sling it over your shoulder or as a crossbody clutch. This is a long overdue creation and we are so happy to be able to indulge in this creative process. We hope that you will love every stitch and every swirl, fan, and bow that we've made.
A bridesmaid collection draped in silver July 01 2010, 0 Comments
This recent bridesmaids collection is so classic and elegant to us. The colors together are crisp and forward and we love the bride's selection.
She chose her clutch, The {ALEXIS} Ruffle Clutch, in white ribbon rose swirl. Edged with hand ruffled navy silk and tied up with a navy satin bow. Very classy, very lovely and delicate seeming.
For her seven bridesmaid's she chose a luxurious silver silk exterior which we lined in a rich navy cotton. Perfect for the wedding, and classic enough to re-wear while out on the town. All the while remembering that incredible day, no matter where they are, the memory lies in hand.

Congratulations to our Bride. We know you'll look stunning!
Something Old, Something New, Something You June 29 2010, 0 Comments
In our work, we are fortunate enough to be a part of one of the most important days in a woman's life, her wedding day. Some days, we match swatches of color, comparing and searching. Somedays, it's a matter of pulling the right color ribbon. And some days, we are bestowed with a large envelope in the mail. We open it to find, expectedly, part of a wedding gown.
[caption id="attachment_651" align="aligncenter" width="270" caption="The Dress, The Beginning"]
[/caption]
Some brides choose to honor the tradition of "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." A tradition that is thought to have begun during the Victorian Era in England, and has been passed down and continues forward. We can create a piece to satisfy, in this case, something old, something new. There is something so beautiful about being allowed to create a piece for such an occasion out of someone else's dear memories. We take those memories that belonged to a loving someone and we cut it and fold it and layer it and sew it, and wrap all those memories into a new piece of life. Fabrics that bring us together, that bind us. A brush of a forefinger across the lace, just like the woman who wore it before you.
[caption id="attachment_661" align="aligncenter" width="270" caption="Embroidered monogram tag and the outer lace from the original dress"]
[/caption]
We have the privilege of adding to your day. Taking a piece of importance in your history, and making it anew, to complement you and your style. While allowing you to hold the past in your hand, of those who went before you. It starts and ends with fabric.
[caption id="attachment_667" align="aligncenter" width="270" caption="Something Old, Something New Clutch"]

A lovely envelope that fits comfortably in hand. The {ALEXIS} Clutch is perfect for such an occasion, to carry along those little extras you'll need throughout your day. Atop the inner lace slip pocket, we have added the monogrammed tag with your wedding date. A piece that documents your special day.

Navy & Green Vs. Green & Navy June 04 2010, 0 Comments
Good Morning!
Today's {COLLECTION} focuses on this Dynamic Duo : Navy and Green. Or if you'd rather Green and Navy. These two together are quite a force in color. They bring with them, perhaps, thoughts of the sea and of lush fields. Trends of Navy and Green have enjoyed a regal spot on the pedestal of color history. Both originating in the mid to late 19th century, they have proven they can withstand the test of time.
